Viagra CONNECT® Available without prescription now at Boots pharmacies nationwide

Viagra CONNECT is the first erectile dysfunction medicine in Ireland to be made available over-the-counter from your pharmacy without the need for a prescription.
Pharmacists hope the move will encourage more Irish men to proactively manage their health.

Viatris has announced that Viagra CONNECT is available to purchase without a prescription from Boots Ireland pharmacies now. Men will simply need to head to the pharmacy counter and ask for Viagra CONNECT, or request to speak with a pharmacist in private. The pharmacist will ask some quick health questions in a discreet manner, to ensure the product is right for the them.


Donal O’Sullivan, Boots Pharmacist said:

‘ Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common occurrence, affecting approximately one in ten- almost 200,000 Irish men1. Erectile dysfunction can be caused by many factors, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Boots pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals with a clear understanding of the difficulties of ED.

The process of purchasing Viagra CONNECT in-store is discreet, supportive and easy to navigate. As the nation’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer, customers are always at the heart of Boots Ireland across our 86 pharmacies and more than 2,000 colleagues. We want our customers to feel comfortable and supported, no matter what their
requirements might be.


Where Viagra CONNECT is supplied, pharmacists will advise men to follow-up with their doctor at their earliest convenience – no later than six months after first being supplied the product, so that any potential underlying conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease can be investigated. Viagra CONNECT costs of €25 for a 4 tablet pack / €45 for an 8 tablet pack.

T&Cs: Subject to stock availability & pharmacist approval. Viagra CONNECT 50mg film-coated tablets contain 50mg Sildenafil per tablet. Always read the label. Over 18s only. This medicine can only be sold to the intended patient. Patients must visit Boots pharmacy to discuss their suitability for and to purchase Viagra Connect. Not available online.
