In 2013 the eHealth Strategy for Ireland was launched to great fanfare. After years spent in the digital doldrums the Irish healthcare service would soon have electronic prescribing, among other initiatives. But despite initial optimism little has been achieved following years of insufficient investment. – Niamh Cahill reports.
