Importance of Hydration Tablets in Sport

The use of hydration tablets in sport, aid in incorporating extra minerals and electrolytes into the daily routine. It’s important to choose a product that contains a scientifically balanced blend, which serves to hydrate and replenish effectively. O.R.S Hydration Tablets supply ordinary drinking water with important electrolytes, minerals and vitamins which aid in fast, proven hydration.

You lose electrolytes like potassium, chloride and sodium through sweat, so O.R.S Hydration Tablets aim to replace those electrolytes and minerals lost through exercise. Optimum hydration is key to great performance, as is maintaining a well-balanced diet. Nutritionally dense foods can help to provide a range of minerals and electrolytes. Sodium and Chloride are electrolytes that serve to maintain fluid balance within the body and also support the functioning of cells. Sodium Chloride can be found in; cooking salt, cheese and protein. It’s abundant in readily available foods like nuts, crisps and sauces, so chances are you’re getting plenty of sodium chloride already. Potassium supports normal cell function and regulates blood pressure. Good sources include bananas, avocados, spinach and sweet potatoes. Magnesium supports bone and teeth development, as well as keeping blood pressure low and muscles functioning properly. Dark green leafies, vegetables and legumes like beans, spinach, lentils, whole grains and avocados are also great sources of Magnesium. Calcium keeps bones and teeth strong, plus muscles and enzymes working effectively. Dairy products like milk, eggs and cheese are excellent natural sources of calcium, as are beans and asparagus.

O.R.S Hydration Tablets are used by many sport groups in order to get the best out of their members. Many of which, from a variety of sporting backgrounds, have experienced the benefits of using hydration tablets to promote better hydration; through replacing electrolytes, minerals and vitamins that are lost during exercise. Great examples are Leinster Rugby, the LGFA, Saracens, Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and the Mullingar Half Marathon.

Murty Hanly, Mullingar Half Marathon says: “Drinking fluids pre, during and post run is so important for long distance running like the half marathon. O.R.S. Hydration Tablets are ideal as they give you all the hydration the body needs and replenishes all those lost minerals – quickly and efficiently.” Tim Streather of Saracens says: “You lose strength, you lose speed, you’re at a greater risk of injury. Hydration is vital to performing well week in and week out, and O.R.S helps all the boys here at Saracens immensely with that issue we face every day.”

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association commented in 2018: “The number of players using O.R.S. continues to rise. Managing hydration for players and keeping them hydrated was upmost in the minds of inter-county managers. O.R.S. Hydration Tablets were invaluable in that regard.” O.R.S soluble hydration tablets replenish water and salts, thereby helping to maintain a proper fluid balance. Perfect for before, during or after exercise. Drop, dissolve, drink!
