Daffodil Day, Friday March 25th

Over 7,000 volunteers set to be out in force collecting funds across the country

For the first time since 2019, communities across Ireland will once again turn daffodil yellow as they take to the streets to raise funds and give hope to cancer patients and their families.

Cancer takes so much from so many. It takes big days, little days, and everything in-between. It replaces them with treatment days and recovery days. But together we have the power to take these days back from cancer.

97% of the charity’s income is from donations, and money raised on Daffodil Day will help fund life-saving cancer research and support services including Night Nursing, Volunteer Driving, the Support Line, free counselling and the Society’s 13 Daffodil Centres.

There will be lots of activity taking place on the day – including:

  • Garden of Hope

Every Daffodil Day the Irish Cancer Society ‘plants’ thousands of daffodils inscribed with their supporters’ personalised messages of hope, remembrance and aspiration. Every daffodil planted is one more show of kindness as the country comes together to support people affected by cancer.

12pm -4pm, Irish Cancer Society Head Office, 43/45 Northumberland Road, Dublin, Dublin 4.

  • Mini-movers

A very special parent and child dance class ‘Mini Movers’. Face of Daffodil Day 2022 Donna-Marie Cullen will be partaking in the class with her son Max (2) to celebrate Daffodil Day. All proceeds from the class will go towards the Irish Cancer Society.

10:30am – 11:10am,  Bawnogue Youth & Community Centre, Bawnogue Road, Clonburris Great, Dublin 22.

  • The Walkeleles

The Walkeleles are a fun loving, enthusiastic group of ukulele players from Walkinstown, County Dublin. This is their 24th year supporting Daffodil Day. Twenty members of the group will be performing in Dublin city centre on Daffodil Day.

1pm-2pm, College Green, Dublin 2.

  • Buildings Light Up

Donegal County Council, Leitrim County Council, Wexford County Council, Kildare County Council, Fingal County Council, Kerry County Council (County Buildings, Princes Quay, Ashe Memorial Hall, Killarney Town Hall), The Bon Secours Hospital Cork, Dublin City Hall, the Mansion House Dublin and Cork City Hall will all be lighting up for Daffodil Day 2022.

  • Clonburris National School

Donna-Marie Cullen’s son Seán will be selling Daffodil Day pins in his school on Friday, March 25th.  The school will also be partaking in a yellow non-uniform day with donations from each family going towards the Irish Cancer Society.  Our Lafayette Queen of the Apostles, Clonburris National School, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, D22 X729.
