Accord Healthcare Ireland Appoints Padraic O’Brien as Managing Director

Accord Healthcare Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Padraic O’Brien as Managing Director from November 1st.  Padraic will replace the current Managing Director Tony Hynds who recently announced his intention to retire from the business in December.

Mr O’Brien, a native of Monaghan and a graduate of DIT and Trinity College Dublin has held a number of senior management positions within the company, most recently as Commercial Director where he has overseen the implementation of the Accord Sales Strategy.

“It is an exciting time in Accord Healthcare Ireland”, says Mr O’Brien, “Tony leaves us in a great position, he has grown the company during his tenure and leaves at a time when Accord is one of the leading generic suppliers in Ireland, with a diverse portfolio of products across retail, hospitals and speciality brands and a dedicated and committed team in Cork. We have many new and exciting launches coming in 2022 which demonstrate our commitment to the health of the Irish people and we will continue our ethos of working with healthcare professionals across the country for the betterment of Irish patients.”

Padraic will also take over the role as Chair of Medicines for Ireland at the AGM at the end of November, he has served as Vice-Chair for the past two years.
