8 Shortlisted for The People’s Pharmacist 2021

We have all heard the saying in recent months; not all superheroes wear capes.

The sentiment has never been truer than when talking about your local community pharmacists and teams. Pharmacists have always been trusted health care professionals, but they left no doubt that they are heroes during the pandemic.

Across the country, community pharmacists have played a crucial role in helping to keep healthcare services going and accessible; consistently visible on the frontline, often taking on new roles outside of their remit, and expanding and providing their expertise.

The dedication of pharmacy teams has not gone unnoticed, however, by the people who matter most. Patients, relatives and members of the general public have taken to thanking them, by nominating them for The People’s Pharmacist 2021, in association with Panadol.

Organised and run by IPN Communications Ltd, The People’s Pharmacist Award gives the public the opportunity to recognise and salute their local pharmacist. Over 700 nominations were received and after an extremely difficult shortlisting process, eight finalists have been announced;

The People’s Pharmacist 2021 Finalists are:

  • Jonathon Morrissey, Marrons Pharmacy, Clane
  • Ellen Davis, Davis Pharmacy, Eyrecourt, Galway
  • Nigel Molony, CarePlus Pharmacy, Carrigaline
  • Catherine Power, Moorefield Pharmacy, Newbridge, Kildare

  • Hilary Dolan, The Mill Pharmacy, Coolaney, Sligo
